Spring Fever

aahhh... do you fell the warmth in the sun?  Summer is coming, yay!

I'm feeling like a grizzly coming out of a cave.  The hold that winter had on us is lifting and everyone is starting to feel carefree again.

There is electricity in the air and a spring in your step.

I am excited to get outside and start shooting.....I have Spring Fever.

And I have something up my sleeve.

Watch for it in early April...

{Tips} 5 Tips on How to Photograph your Newborn

  1.  Keep Baby Happy - A newborn that has a full tummy, is freshly changed and is snuggly warm is the secret to great images.  Try some white noise for those little ones that are fussy and don't want to sleep.
  1.  Little Details -  toes, fingers, squishy lips, lashes, fuzzy hair and shoulders...all of these little details are my favorite to take photos of...don't forget to capture them!

3.  Add a Sibling - Depending on the age of the sibling, they could either hold, sit by or lay beside your newborn.  A helper may be a good idea if the sibling is under 3 years old.

  1. Get in the Picture! - You know how much I think this is important (if you don't then click here).  It only takes a second and it doesn't matter if you are still in your pj's or haven't showered.  It will be a photo your child will cherish forever. _0193
  1.  Safety! Safety! Safety! - This is the number one priority when taking images of your newborn.  Please do not compromise your newborns safety for a sake of a photo.  Yes, photos of newborns in pots and baskets and props are cute, but the photographers that took them are trained in how to safely place baby in those props.  It's not a simple as just sticking them in there...there are many things taken into consideration when planning out images like that.  Please remember that most of the difficult poses and set-ups you see on Pinterest or on photographer's websites are actually composite images of two or more images combined together to achieve the final product.

Finally, remember to Print Them Out.  The are no good to you on you computer.  Print them out and enjoy them everyday!

Hope that helps!

{One Year Session} Little Addyson turns one!

Little Addyson is my first One Year Collection graduate.

How does time manage to steal away our years so successfully?

Could it really be 365 days since she was still a part of you, unseen and untouched by the world?

To some a year seems like such a long time...

but to a Mommy it isn't.

There will never be enough time in the world for your child to stay little.

Never be too many patty cakes, or blowed kisses.  Cuddles in the night or little fingers wrapped around yours.

Ah!  Where does the time go!  I met this little one when she was only a few days old and now look.

She is such a beautiful little person.

Happy Birthday to you little one.
